Transition and Best Start
At St Patrick's we offer transition programs for our enrolling students.
Best Start is undertaken in the first week of Term 1 2021 at scheduled times. |
|
Best Start
Best Start is a reflection of where you child is on the numeracy and literacy continuum before they start school. It is a way of letting us know how we can best start and educate your child. It is run by the school but is an initiative of the Federal Government.
|
BuddiesBuddy teams are children from Year 5 (who will be Year 6 in 2021) who will help your child adjust to the day to day life at St Patrick's. These senior students will open drink bottles and food packets, show our kinder's where to play, and assist in any way possible in the early days of Kindergarten. These students will be trained to fulfill this leadership role.
|
Visual Story
Once enrolled your child will be given a 'goodie bag' with information and helpful transition items.
Each child will have a visual story, with pictures of the school and teachers. Once read to your child at home, they will be less anxious about school as they will be able to look at their next step in their education. |
Transition Days
St Patrick's offers transition days for all students enrolled into Kinder. Each student will come into the school and spend some time, to become familiar with our school. More information will about dates will be given to parents closer to these days.
